A free education programme based around kai and cooking skills.

We have classes running each day. Learners can join a class, and come to one class a week for 16 weeks (two terms).

The WELLfed programme is very hands-on and practical, and includes verbal directions and demonstrations. We have skills and resources to help ensure everyone can understand and learn successfully.

Classes are free - some eligibility criteria applies, but generally adults aged under 65 who are not working can attend

We are based in Cannons Creek, Porirua. Learners are mostly local to Porirua, but some attend from around the Wellington area.

Everyone is starting from a their own point, but all Learners can expect to:

• Build confidence in the kitchen, using everyday ingredients

• Learn to cook nourishing meals for their whānau on a budget

• Develop practical skills in meal planning, shopping smart, and reducing food waste

• Use fresh produce 

• Connect with others in a welcoming, supportive group environment

• Strengthen wellbeing through a sense of purpose, achievement, and belonging

• Gain confidence to try new things, take next steps, or join other learning or community opportunities

• Celebrate progress and be part of a thriving WELLfed whānau

Some enrollment criteria applies, but generally people aged under 65 years who are not working can attend WELLfed.

We have volunteer-run childcare available for preschoolers while their parent/caregiver attends WELLfed classes.
