OUR WORK
STARTS HERE
OUR PROGRAMMES
Since 2016, WELLfed has been dedicated to nourishing communities through food and connections. Our mission is to help individuals and families thrive by growing skills and confidence, improving health and wellbeing, and strengthening community connections.

WELLfed Cooking
We offer eight free classes per week, each accommodating up to 12 learners in our teaching kitchen.
Learners engage in hands-on sessions focused on nutritious, budget-friendly recipes using seasonal and rescued produce.
Our supportive environment includes shared kai and kōrero, with volunteers available to support and care for preschoolers onsite while learners cook.
The majority of our tutors are graduates of the programme, supporting our commitment to community-led growth.
WELLfed Plus
As we are community-focused, the WELLfed Plus programme has been developed to support the needs identified by our participants. We provide workshops and support services aimed at holistic personal development.
These include individual goal-setting plans, first aid, communication and interview skills, life skills such as car maintenance and parenting courses, CV writing, and practical courses like diabetes management.
All of these workshops support individuals to build skills that are relevant to further education and employment, or volunteering in the community.

WELLfed Garden
Our flourishing garden supplies fresh produce for our cooking classes and shared meals.
It serves as an educational hub, offering learner allotments, weekly "Plant and Learn" volunteer sessions, and programmes for local school tamariki.
Our composting system underscores our dedication to sustainability and environmental stewardship.
